Dynaudio Subwoofers
Dynaudio subwoofers provide accurate and powerful low-end extension to any Dynaudio near- and mid-field monitoring setups.
Designed to match seamlessly with any of Dynaudio’s LYD and BM Classic Series, Dynaudio’s 9S and 18S subwoofers transform two-way systems into full-range three-way setups (or four-way with the LYD 48), allowing you to mix and master with painstaking accuracy… and deliver audio that translates beautifully to any playback system.
Designed to be equally efficient for stereo and surround monitoring applications, both the 9S and 18S subs feature long-throw, 9.45in (24cm) woofers for handling the ultra-low frequency range. The 9S features a single woofer whilst the 18S has two in an opposing design, with a woofer on each side. Both models deliver a full, focused and revealing performance, capable of providing high SPL and low-volume precision.
Powered by a high-end 300-watt Class D amplifier, the 9S long-throw driver delivers low-end extension and SPL performance that significantly outperforms the BM 9S II it replaces, while still preserving detail and precision.
The 18S is powered by a 500-watt amplifier and features a powerful DSP engine, with built-in presets for Dynaudio Pro studio monitors, as well as time-alignment functionality, and a three-band EQ to defeat specific room modes. Other features include double front baffles, adjustable low-pass filters from 50Hz to 150Hz, and SAT output with defeatable high-pass filter, all of which is housed in sealed cabinets.
Finally, both subwoofers have a signal-sensing auto-power circuit that saves energy when not in use. And for larger rooms, it’s possible to daisy chain more 9S or 18S subs, having the first unit control the overall volume for all of the subs.
