You may remember Richard Bundy who we’ve previously featured in 3 videos about the Studiologic Sledge, Numa Organ and Acuna 88. Well, it seems Richard continues to be a very busy keyboard player as he was in at Abbey Road Studios last week and then played last night with Charlene Soraia at the after show party at the BAFTA’s.

For these sessions, Richard has added an RME Babyface to his set up (the Babyface has since been discontinued, check out the new RME Babyface Pro instead), so I asked him how he was using RME’s smallest audio interface. “I am using the Babyface for midi (it has zero latency) and the XLR Audio outs. The Mac is running Mainstage with the virtual instrument of the Fazioli, created by a guy in Switzerland.”

Richard then told me about the install. ‘I unpacked and setup the new Babyface at the morning tea-break during rehearsal. The clarity of sound and the midi zero latency was totally obvious. Such a neat piece of kit. The breakout extension took all the wires out of sight. Feels solid, looks great, sounds awesome…’

If you were stuck in the studio or playing a gig down the road at the “Dock & Duck” last night, then I’m sure it was too late for you to run down to see Richard at the BAFTA’s after show party, but you can catch him from March 2013 with Baptiste Giabiconi or Marlon Roudette.
