It’s now available… RME have today announced that their Windows/Mac software TotalMix FX is available at the Apple App Store, ported to iOS for iPad. The TotalMix FX App gives you control over the mixer and effects of TotalMix FX for your Class Compliant RME Fireface UCX or UFX.
In common with the well established Windows and Mac OSX versions, TotalMix FX App uses minimal system resources. It runs on any iPad and all iOS versions from 5.0 up. Just like the original TotalMix, it does not process audio, but acts as a remote window onto the calculations performed in the hardware. The app is fully compatible even when storing/loading workspaces, and includes all of the features found on the desktop version, with the exception of MIDI/OSC remote control.
TotalMix FX on iPad unlocks the full functionality of the RME Fireface UCX, providing a full overview at lightning fast speeds. This is also the case with the Fireface UFX but with the added bonus of full control of DURec (Direct USB Recording).
TotalMix FX for iPad benefits from the background audio functions in iOS. So, during recording and playback, you can switch to TotalMix FX at any time, perform the desired settings or changes, and then return to the audio app without interruption.
