Long time RME user Simon Byrt recently sent us a couple of snaps from the Brussels Summer Festival, where he was performing with the successful Icelandic singer-songwriter Emiliana Torrini.
Having joined her band as keyboard player and electronic co-ordinator in 2009 Simon has toured the world and also contributed significantly to Emiliana’s new album ‘Tookah’; co-writing the lead single ‘Speed of Dark’ as well as the tracks ‘Elisabet’ and ‘Blood Red’.
Whilst on tour an RME Fireface is never far from his side and back in his home studio RME has also been an ever-present. As Simon puts it:
“I’ve been using RME products both live and in the studio for many years. I’ve always found them to be rock solid and the most reliable part of my set up. This gives me the freedom to think about the creative process rather than worrying about gear failure mid gig / studio session.”
‘Tookah’ is out now on Rough Trade Records.
