RME have released the next generation of Mac OSX and Windows drivers, with “TotalMix 4 all” making TotalMix available for all RME audio interfaces. RME have continued to develop drivers over the last 13 years to optimise performance with their ever evolving product range and software.
RME’s latest PCI/PCIe Windows driver version 4.03 offers an easy to understand and flexible to use Interleaved option for WDM operation, plus extended speaker device control. It also offers sample rate control for professional multichannel audio interfaces by completely unloading/reloading all current WDM devices, giving full control of the desired sample rate under Windows 7 and 8.
FireWire and USB drivers for RME interfaces have also been updated with new features and improved performance, under both Windows and Mac OS X. this includes full compatibility to the latest Windows 8 and Mac OS X.
RME have always offered unrivalled support for all products, both new and old. But the announcement that the new TotalMix FX has been ported back to all devices released since 2001 is incredible. This of course excludes the effects and dynamics features on earlier units as the rendering technology was not readily available at the time. But, this is truly product support on another level, with users who may of bought an RME product up to 13 years ago, even those products that are no longer in production, still being able to take advantage of new developments.
So, just to confirm, TotalMix FX can now be used with all RME HDSP(e) cards, as well as the legendary FireWire audio interfaces Fireface 800 and Fireface 400.
