Appsys adds support for DiGiCo, Soundcraft & Studer consoles
The Appsys ProAudio Multiverter, the one-stop-shop for all of your digital audio conversion needs, now supports even more formats. Thanks to the latest firmware update, consoles from DiGiCo, Soundcraft & Studer can all be interfaced with directly via the optional MTA-64 MADI-TP breakout box.
The small Extender inline box enables the Multiverter to connect to DiGiCo and Soundcraft/Studer MADI-TP ports, while power, control and configuration is taken from the Multiverter’s dedicated Extension port.
All known pin-outs are supported, as well as a built-in MDIX feature which allows you to use straight Cat5 cables (where crossover cables would normally have been required).
“The Multiverter behaved flawlessly and was a breeze to set up. It just all worked first time, very impressive and with zero clocking headaches.
It truly is a great, powerful yet no-nonsense solution to a good deal of problems we face in the live industry.”
(Russ Miller, engineer for Johnny Marr)
More formats & more control
The latest firmware update adds many other enhancements too: The ADAT ports now support SPDIF and AES3 transmission and reception; control data can be passed between MADI ports and MIDI inputs and outputs; and the extension port can be used for super-low-latency connection of two Appsys Multiverters for even more complex setups.

Precise in time: ClockShield technology
Another important new feature added with firmware version 4.0 is Appsys’s brand new ClockShield technology. Clockshield allows the Multiverter to run up to one second (!) without a master clock, resynchronizing again with minimal (and frequently inaudible) glitches. The handling of signal errors has also been greatly improved, eliminating clicks and pops when signals are added or removed.
