New Features added to Appsys ProAudio Multiverter & SRC
Appsys have released a new update (v5.0-Beta5 2022-05-03) for the Multiverter MVR-64, adding a number of useful improvements to their powerful digital format converter and SRC (sample rate converter).
Channel routing has been made simpler when using different sample rates, and the SRC is now more flexible than previously. Prior to this update, SRC was applied to the Multiverter’s I/O in selectable blocks – now, any input or output can run on either clock domain (A or B). Sample rate conversion is also automatically applied for channels routed between the two different clock domains, with a maximum of 128 channels being converted.
The fixed 64 input and 64 output channel limitation has also been removed, providing better flexibility in how channels can be converted in either direction, offering 128 input SRCs only; 112 input SRCs and 16 output SRCs; 96 input SRCs and 32 output SRCs; all the way to 128 output SRCs only, all when operating at 48 kHz.
Finally the FlexLink connection (the “HDMI style” connector on the back panel of the Multiverter) now supports an impressive 192 channels (up from the previous 64), providing additional options when connecting with a second Multiverter, or the upcoming Appsys Flexiverter range.
“This update takes the versatility of the Multiverter to another level,” says Simon Roome, Synthax UK’s Broadcast Sales Manager. “The Multiverter was already a very useful problem solving tool – now, with the latest software installed, the Multiverter is a ‘must have’ for Sound Engineers working with multiple digital formats.”
