Description
Overview
The Tierra Audio Gravity VCA Bus Compressor is a flexible stereo compressor, perfect for adding to your master bus to glue your mix together or send it into a pumping overdrive.
The ultimate tool for the modern mixing engineer, there's nothing quite like the sound and response of all-analogue hardware compressors, with smooth transitions and complete transparency, the Gravity VCA will quickly become your go-to compressor for instruments, busses, effects and even full mixes.
Featuring a huge range of attack and release times as well as a variable ratio knob, you can dial in the perfect amount of compression for your sound source to ensure it creates a glued together sound that keeps your dynamics in check.
Not only that, but Gravity features an integrated high-pass filter from 120Hz that you can engage to keep your low-end clean and free from unruly pumping if you need to heavily compress your signal.

VCA design
One of the classic studio compressor styles, the Gravity utilises a VCA design to produce the instantly recognisable tones and character that they produce.
The Gravity VCA Bus Compressor works by attenuating signals based on a control voltage set by the unit to produce the chosen amount of gain reduction for your instrument or a group of instruments in a bus.
Chosen for its versatility, the VCA design does not favour a certain instrument but instead is highly flexible and can handle almost any challenge thrown at it, from vocals, guitars, keyboards and much more.
An extremely clean design, the Gravity VCA Bus Compressor is still capable of high levels of gain reduction, however, if it's pushed too hard, it will be sent into overdrive, adding clipping and saturation onto your tone for extra character and grit.

Hold down your mix
Clean up your mixes with the Gravity VCA Bus Compressor, tame
dynamics in your individual instruments, bus mixes and even effects!
A
secret to the stars, getting your compression right can make or break
the mix of your track.
Too much and you will risk unwanted pumping and
disturbing artefacts, too little and your mix may not be consistent
enough to compete with major label releases.
The Gravity VCA Bus Compressor will deliver the tone and flexibility you need to gel your entire mix together to have a homogenous sound that moves as one titanic unit with energy and passion.
The VCA design of the Gravity Compressor does allow for the pumping
effect as an artistic choice, thanks to its extremely fast attack and
release times that it's capable of and the high levels of gain reduction
that is possible.
This would be the perfect choice for modern dance and electronic music producers looking to add subtle pumping that hits your chest and gets you off your feet to dance.
